Cliff Hanger

Reviewed by McKenzie Stephens, LDSFiles.com Teen Staff Writer

Cliff Hanger by Pamela Carrington Reid. Published by Covenant Communications, Inc.

'Cliff Hanger' is a compelling story about the Coffin House Kids vacation to the Great Barrier Reef - to help out their injured Uncle Ammon. But strange things have been going on at Uncle Ammon's fishing ground. A dead body was found tied to a buoy, and though it wasn't on their property, it was close enough to worry about. When the kids keep seeing the strange man that they met on the ferry, they get more than a little suspicious. Soon, the Coffin House kids have thoughts about poachers and even entertain thoughts that Uncle Ammon is up to no good. The kids just can't pass up this opportunity to solve a mystery!!

I loved 'Cliff Hanger', couldn't put it down! It was thrilling and suspensful. It didn't turn out the way you planned. That was a big one for me because I really have a problem with books that have obvious endings. 'Cliff Hanger' goes to show, that there are more possibilities than just the predictable good and bad endings. The author, Pamela Carrington Reid did a wonderful job. When it comes the the setting, I was really there at the Great Barrier Reef interacting with the characters! This book is about adventure and faith. 'Cliff Hanger' is a good book to read to the family or to curl up with on a rainy day. I highly recommend this book.

This book is a fast read, but I enjoyed every minute of it. I hope there will be more adventures to share with the Coffin House Kids!
