Bonnie D. Parkin?s life changed the day Gordon B. Hinckley, president of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, invited her and her husband to his office in Utah. Since early 2002, Parkin has been the general president of the Relief Society. One of her many duties is to visit women of the Relief Society in different countries to find out what challenges the women face there and what assistance they need.
