8/19/2008 - Taylor Summers - LDS Church President, Thomas S. Monson met with Martin Torrijos, President of Panama, and his wife Vivian after the dedicatory ceremonies for the Panama City Temple. President Monson talked about the temple's dedication and construction, as well as future humanitarian aid to the country.
Today marks the busiest day of BYU's Education Week. Despite the heavy crowds, many are happy to attend.
The U.S. Men's Volleyball has finished round-robin play undefeated after crushing Japan in 3 sets. Former BYU standout, Ryan Millar, led the American assault with 10 points and 4 blocks. Head Coach Hugh McCutcheon was present on the sidelines and will continue to coach the U.S. squad. Coach McCutcheon's father-in-law, Todd Bachman, was murdered in Beijing during the second day of the Olympics; the coach has stayed with his family since the tragedy.
