7/30/2008 - Taylor Summers - Rodger Sorensen, BYU's Chair for the Department of Theater and Media Arts, spoke at Tuesday's devotional. Professor Sorensen drew from his experience as the artistic director for the Hill Cumorah Pageant in Palmyra, NY to explain the need for anyone to find their own sacred grove experience.
A new study done at BYU shows that women may stop breastfeeding their infants too soon. While 77% of all moms nationally start to breastfeed their child. only 36% do it for the recommended six months. Breast milk is essential to a baby's development and health.
Elder Richard G. Scott of the Quorum of the Twelve Apostles for the LDS Church will receive a honorary doctorate at the August 2008 Commencement at BYU. Elder Scott will also be speaking to those in attendance.
